  • Parrots!

Wild Parrots in San Francisco? Yes there are officially at least two flocks of wild Parrots here. These Parrots have evolved into a brand new species of parrot indigenous to San Francisco.

An invitation from the boozey & bohemian neighborhood
that brought you Janis Joplin, Phyllis Diller, Topless and
Bottomless Dancing, and of course, Jack Kerouac.

Since the days of the gold rush and the infamous Barbary Coast,
North Beach has been a center of San Francisco's rambunctious
nightlife, and today several excellent neighborhood bars and
saloons uphold this venerable tradition. Some offer live music,
some serve food, many are boisterous, and a few are merely moody,
but each one reverberates to its own particular beat. Covering all of
them in one night is probably inadvisable, so we've narrowed it down
to six or seven. On this two and a half hour trip through on of the
city's most colorful neighborhoods, you will see the variety of fun
that is served up by the glassful in the pubs and saloons of historic
North Beach. Many of these establishments still maintain traditions
dating back to the 1800's.

Along the way, you will pass the cafe's, the bakeries and coffee bars
that scent the evenings in North Beach, and if you get hungry, you'll
have plenty of chances to grab a slice of pizza, or another tasty bite
at one of the many neighborhood's eateries.
